American Health Communities (AHC) Earns Five Awards for Excellence

American Health Communities (AHC), a division of American Health Partners in Franklin, Tennessee, received five Awards of Excellence from the Tennessee Health Care Association (THCA). The annual Awards of Excellence program honored these employees for making a difference in the lives of nursing home patients through innovative programs, volunteerism, community involvement, leadership and association service.

Each year, THCA recognizes individuals, facilities and groups that are setting the standard for quality long-term care in our state. The peer-nominated honorees are selected by an internal THCA committee and a panel of outside judges.

The following AHC employees and facilities received Awards of Excellence:

  • Activity Coordinators of Tennessee Member of the Year – Sheila Willis, activity director at AHC West Tennessee Transitional Care in Jackson, Tennessee
  • Directors of Nursing Association Member of the Year – Latosha Taylor, director of nursing at AHC Crestview in Brownsville, Tennessee
  • Caregiver of the Year for the Jackson District – Joseph Hill, RN charge nurse at AHC Decatur County in Parsons, Tennessee
  • Professional Service Award – Kyle Smith, administrator at AHC Decatur County
  • Innovative Program Award – AHC Cumberland for their Backpack Program

 

In addition, the Group Volunteer Award was presented to Mable and Friends organization for its work at AHC Lewis County.
