Mallard will Lead the Home Health Team serving Benton and Humphreys Counties
FRANKLIN, TENN., July 13, 2022 – Tennessee Quality Care, a division of American Health Partners, announced that Lisa Mallard, R.N., has joined the Camden office as clinical manager of home health services. In this role, Mallard coordinates the delivery of comprehensive home health and private-duty nursing services to individuals in Benton and Humphreys counties. Her office also partners with Camden office of Tennessee Quality Care Hospice, which serves both counties, as well as Carroll and Henry counties.
“Lisa Mallard is an exceptional addition to our home health team,” said Nichole McClain, senior director of home health for Tennessee Quality Care, which serves patients in 35 Tennessee counties. “She comes to Tennessee Quality Care after working 23 years supporting a variety of medical specialists in hospitals across the state. This experience has prepared her to work collaboratively with our referring partners to help patients recover fully and quickly.”
Mallard’s career began in hospital operating rooms, where she was a certified surgical technician for more than a decade before returning to school to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
“I have followed a career path I truly love,” Mallard said. “For many years, my passion was in the operating room, where I assisted in a vast array of surgical procedures for general, orthopedic and cardiac patients. In the process, I learned a lot about wound-care best practices, which are vital to recovery.”
Now, Mallard said she is ready to leverage her diverse knowledge to help patients receive high-quality care at home, where they are most comfortable. Her experience in post-surgical wound care will be particularly welcome by providers and their patients since patients often struggle to heal at home after surgery or an injury.
“I am very excited about this new journey into home health,” Mallard said. “I look forward to helping patients return to good health and avoid unnecessary hospitalization by implementing Tennessee Quality Care’s many specialized programs.”
Disease-focused programs are a cornerstone of care at Tennessee Quality Care, according to Mallard. These personalized care plans improve outcomes for those with conditions like heart failure, diabetes, asthma and COPD. The company also developed a Next Step program to help improve mobility and prevent falls. In addition, the Camden care team includes physical and occupational therapists, who offer in-home assistance to help individuals regain and maintain independence.
Outside of work, Mallard enjoys spending time with her family, spoiling her grandkids, gardening, fishing and just being outdoors.
