American Health Communities Expands into Knoxville Market with Acquisition of a Senior Care Facility and Physical Rehab Location

American Health Communities (AHC), a division of American Health Partners based in Franklin, TN, a diversified healthcare company focused on post-acute care for seniors, is expanding into the Knoxville, Tennessee market with the acquisition of the Shannondale Health Care Center (skilled nursing facility) and Shannondale at WellPark (advanced transitional rehabilitation center).

Facility Name Changes:

  • Shannondale Health Care Center will now be known as AHC Knoxville.
  • WellPark will be rebranded as AHC WellPark.

 

                                                

 

The newly acquired facilities, AHC Knoxville and AHC WellPark, will join American Health Communities’ network of exceptional healthcare providers, bringing comprehensive and compassionate care to the residents of Knoxville and surrounding areas. This acquisition brings AHC’s total number of communities to 31 (AHC will now have 30 skilled nursing facilities in Tennessee and one in Huntsville, Alabama).

AHC Knoxville (formerly Shannondale Health Care Center) has a long history of providing top-notch skilled nursing care, senior living and rehabilitation services in Knoxville. It currently has 176 licensed beds. AHC WellPark, is a technologically advanced transitional rehabilitation facility offering physical, occupational and speech therapy with 30 licensed beds. WellPark features a state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym, a hydrotherapy pool and an occupational therapy complex with a bedroom and kitchen facility to enable patients to simulate real-world tasks as part of their OT therapy regimen.
