Four AHC-American Health Communities Receive Awards of Excellence

Statewide Association Recognizes Individuals and Facilities for Setting Healthcare Gold Standard

AHC-American Health Communities, a division of American Health Partners in Franklin, Tennessee, received three Awards of Excellence for staff at the recent Tennessee Health Care Association Annual Convention in Nashville. A facility dietary cook was also awarded Caregiver of the Year for her district.
THCA Awards of Excellence recognize individuals, facilities and groups that set the highest standards for providing quality long-term care through innovative programs, volunteerism, community involvement, leadership and association service. The peer-nominated honorees are selected by an internal THCA committee and a panel of outside judges.
The following AHC employees received Awards of Excellence:
  • Nurse of the Year – Candace Moeller, staffing coordinator at AHC Decatur County in Parsons, Tennessee.
  • Directors of Nursing Association Member of the Year – Casey Pinson, director of nursing at AHC Savannah in Savannah, Tennessee.
  • Dietary Supervisors Association Member of the Year – Dennis Smith, certified dietary manager at AHC McNairy County in Selmer, Tennessee.
Tamara Connelly, a dietary cook at AHC Westwood in Decaturville, Tennessee, was named the 2019 Caregiver of the Year for the Jackson, Tennessee, district and is now being considered for the statewide Caregiver of the Year award, which will be presented on Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day in November.
