New outpatient program now available at Columbia, Clarksville, and Memphis locations.
Unity Psychiatric Care is expanding access to mental health services for children and families by now accepting school-age children and adolescents, ages 5 to 17, for outpatient psychiatric care at its Clarksville, Columbia and Memphis locations in Tennessee; with clinics in Bridgeport and Huntsville Alabama soon to follow.
This expansion reflects Unity Psychiatric Care’s deep commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate mental health care for individuals at every stage of life. By offering services tailored to the unique emotional and behavioral needs of children and teens, Unity aims to bridge critical gaps in mental health access for young people and their families.
“Our communities are seeing a growing need for specialized mental health care for children and adolescents,” said Lisa Hogan, MSN, PMHNP-BC, Vice President of Operations for Unity Psychiatric Care. “We’re proud to extend our outpatient services to meet that need with evidence-based, family-centered care that supports both the child and the people who care for them. Our team works closely with parents, schools, and community providers to ensure each child receives the right care in the right setting.”
Unity’s outpatient program for school-age children and adolescents includes comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management when clinically appropriate, individual and family therapy, and close collaboration with schools, pediatricians, and community agencies. All treatment plans are developed using trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches. Parent or guardian involvement is an important part of each child’s treatment plan, while confidentiality for adolescents is maintained in accordance with state law. When needed, Unity’s clinicians are trained to provide immediate safety and crisis assessments to ensure the wellbeing of each patient.
Unity Psychiatric Care is now accepting referrals for children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. A parent or legal guardian must provide consent for treatment, and referrals are welcomed from schools, pediatricians, and community providers. Children under the age of five may be referred to specialized early childhood providers who can address developmental and emotional needs at that stage.
